Ruth Genevieve Morin was born September 17, 1931 in Franklin Township, Wright County to John and Matilda (Doerfler) Theisen. Ruth grew up outside of Delano with her family and attended St. Peter Catholic School in Delano. After the death of her mother at a young age, Ruth entered the workforce. On January 12, 1959 she was united in marriage to James C. Morin in Robbinsdale. They made New Brighton their home while Ruth worked as a silk screener and then in a nursing home. Together, Ruth and Jim enjoyed spending time at their cabin in Mora and wintering in Florida. After Jim’s death in 1988, Ruth moved to Buffalo for a few years, before making Maple Lake her home for 20+ years. Due to her failing health, Ruth recently entered the nursing home. In her spare time, Ruth enjoyed music, dancing, and having the occasional adult cocktail. She was especially fond of the time she spent in Florida and loved to go deep sea fishing.
Ruth is survived by her sister, Helen Smith of Mankato; and many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents John & Matilda, husband Jim, and siblings Marie Theisen, Elaine Pool, Dorothy Carlson, Grace Graham, Raymond Theisen, and Ervin Theisen.
