Norman J. Oletzke, age 101, of Annandale, died Monday, November 26, 2018 at the Annandale Care Center.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 30, 2018 at the Annandale United Methodist Church in Annandale with visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Paul Baker will officiate. Burial will take place 3:00 p.m. Friday, November 30, 2018 at Pine Ridge Cemetery in Emily.
Norman John Oletzke was born March 2, 1917 in Corinna Township to John and Elsie (Hoeft) Oletzke. He was confirmed in his Methodist faith at the age of 14. Norman was united in marriage to Selma Schauer on October 6, 1937 at Concordia Lutheran Church in Fairhaven. He farmed for 25 years with his father in Annandale and on his own in Outing; he was a mechanic assistant for Hannah Mining Company in Crosby for 6 years; and he worked in shipping and Receiving and was the Union Steward at White Motor Company in Minneapolis for 12 years. He retired in 1974. Norm moved to Alaska for 11 years in retirement and returned to live in Annandale in 1999. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing guitar, singing and playing cards; especially Crazy eights with his grandkids.
He is survived by his daughter Janet (Arvid) Lambert of Yuma, AZ and Delta Junction, AK; son Roger (Linda) Oletzke of Prescott, AZ; four grandchildren Chris (Tish) Lambert, Nancy (Alan) Fowler, Susan (Robert) Gardner and Sally (Scott) Inabinet; ten great grandchildren Robbie and Travis Gardner, Stacey Bradley, Tawny Brooks, Nicole Vasquez, Kyle Lambert, Ian Smith, Kirstin Gunter, Clayton and Lauren Inabinet; fifteen great grandchildren; and sister Dorothy Hietanen of Maple Lake. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife; and sisters Mabel Olson and Bette Klempka.
