Milton “Milt” Ransom, age 86, of Annandale died Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at his home in Corinna Township.
Memorial Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 27, 2017 at Annandale United Methodist Church in Annandale with visitation one hour prior to the service. Rev. Mary Keen will officiate. Memorials are preferred to the Annandale United Methodist Church.
Milton Harold Ransom was born to Lyman and Flora Ransom in Southside Township on January 29, 1931. He just celebrated 60 years of marriage with his wife, Sandra. Milton loved the outdoors: hunting deer, ducks, grouse and pheasant, fishing for walleyes and pan fish, and spearing northern pike.
In his life, Milton custom silo filled, built poured silos and was a redi-mix truck driver. He served on the Annandale Coop Creamery Board, Corinna Township Board and was on the Annandale Fire Department for 42 years. Milton farmed on the Historic Ransom farm starting with horses and ending with four-wheel drive tractors. Milton raised dairy cows, beef cows, hogs, horses, and crops using prudent conservation methods preserving the land for future generations.
Milt is survived by his wife Sandy; sons Tim of Milaca, Greg (Laurie) of Foreston and Dave of Annandale; six grandchildren Connie (fiancé Dan Golat), Shaun (Sarah), Emily, Pamela (Alex) Westling, Joel and Colette; four great grandchildren Keith, Axel, Lillian and Greta; brother Richard (Cathy) of Annandale; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; grandson Keith; sister Opal Nelson; and brothers Earl and Clarence.
