Michael M. Jorgenson, age 83, of Annandale died Friday, February 10, 2017 at his home while receiving hospice care.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mike and Joan Jorgenson Clearwater Lake home in Annandale. Family and friends are invited to bring their thoughts, prayers and fondest memories to share. Death leaves a heartache noone can heal; Love leaves a memory no one can steal. Memorials are preferred to Camp Friendship.

Michael Maurice Jorgenson was born December 10, 1933 in Hutchinson, Minnesota to Irving and Mary (Scanlon) Jorgenson. Mike attended school in Hutchinson where he graduated with the Class of 1952. He furthered his education at South Dakota State University where he obtained a pharmacy degree in 1959. On September 25, 1954 Mike was united in marriage to Joan Mary Filk in Glencoe, Minnesota. Mike worked at pharmacies in Marshall and Sleepy Eye before opening Mike’s Rexall Drug in Annandale in 1962. He sold the pharmacy in 1971 when he purchased a different pharmacy out in Idaho. After a short time, Mike and Joan returned to Minnesota where they purchased Hogan Drug in Foley. In 1983, Mike and Joan made Annandale their home once more when he sold Hogan Drug and opened Mike’s Pharmacy & Hallmark in Annandale. In addition to Mike’s Pharmacy, he and Joan purchased an additional building where Joan opened Joan’s Hallmark Gold Crown Store. In 2001, Mike and Joan sold the pharmacy and Hallmark. Mike continued to work for the Keaveny family until he officially retired in January of 2008. Mike enjoyed hunting especially in Alaska, Canada, and the western United States. He enjoyed traveling with Joan across the United States, Europe, Mexico and Caribbean Islands. Mike enjoyed hosting family gatherings at his home on Clearwater Lake, especially when they visited around the campfire and took the pontoon out for a drive.

Mike is survived by his children, Nancy (Stewart) Lallman of Omaha, NE, Mary (Jim) Spicka of Boise, ID, Peter (Jimmy King) Jorgenson of South Haven, Anne (Bob) McLean of Duluth, Kathleen Jorgenson of Elk River, and Sara Jorgenson of Royalton; daughter-in-law, Sharon Jorgenson of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren, Eric (Amanda) Yager, Dustin Yager, Kate (John) Linn, Derek Spoden, Michael (Rachel) Jorgenson, Benjamin Jorgenson, Lacey (Nick) Larson, Matthew McLean, Allsion Spicka, Lawson Spicka, Andrew Lallman, and Alexander Lallman; great grandchildren, Iviee, Izabella, Lillyan, and Ayva Yager, and Madison and Liam Jorgenson; brother, Tom (Bobbi) Jorgenson of Pleasanton, CA; and nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Joan, son Patrick, and siblings Mary, Charles, John, Bill, and Tony Jorgenson.

Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Annandale.
