Max Linden Kolbe

Max Linden Kolbe, age 94, formerly of Aitkin, passed away on March 13, 2018 at St. Mary's Care Center in Winsted.

Max was born July 26, 1923 in Rochester where he grew up, was married to Phyllis June Keckhafer and started raising a family. Max and Phyllis lived in the Harris area for a while and eventually settled in Aitkin. They raised eight children. Max was a farmer by trade and a wood-worker by passion.

He is survived by seven children Rachel and Barbara Kolbe of Colorado Springs, CO, Susanne (Mike) Mendoza of Visalia, CA, Karen (Wil) Becker of Brush Prairie, WA, William Kolbe of Brooklyn Center, Max (Cathy) Kolbe of Rockford and Catherine Kolbe of Annandale; grandchildren Darilyn, Suta, Nitai, Goloka, Chaitanya, Jordan (Amanda), Sana, Joshua, Natasha (Derreck), Max and Bradford; and sisters Gladys Mulholland and Margie Jylland. Max is preceded in death by his wife Phyllis; son Darrel; grand-daughter Kama, parents Wesley Kolbe and Theresa LaVan; brother Vernon Kolbe; and sister Bernice Kuehn.

Max was an honest, hard-working and loving man who will be missed greatly.

There will be a private service this summer. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Annandale.
