Mary F. Hentges, age 94, of Cold Spring, died Friday, August 4, 2017 at Assumption Home in Cold Spring.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at St. Anne Catholic Church, Kimball with Fr. James Statz as Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Anne Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service, Wednesday, at the church.

Mary Florence Hentges was born July 6, 1923 in Becker, Minnesota to Thomas and Julia (Smith) Gavin. She graduated from Becker High School and continued her education at the St. Cloud Hospital School of Nursing. Over the years, Mary has worked as a nurse’s aide at the St. Cloud Hospital, a cook at Kimball High School and she worked the farm with her husband in Fair Haven. Mary was united in marriage to Wilfred Hentges on May 22, 1947 in St. Cloud. They were members of St. Anne Catholic Church in Kimball. Mary enjoyed traveling, watching birds, growing roses and other flowers, and fishing.

She is survived by her husband Wilfred of Cold Spring; children Bernice (Richard) Ashfeld of Minneapolis, Judy Ahles of St. Cloud, David (Mary) Hentges of Brooklyn Park, Sandra (Tom) Flugaur of St. Louis Park and Wayne (Julie) Hentges of South Haven; 11 grandchildren Steven, Stephanie, Kevin, Neil, Linda, Dale, Tina, Leann, Matthew, Jennifer and Katy; 21 great grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her son-in-law Robert Ahles; brothers and sisters William Gavin, Arthur Gavin, Frank Gavin, Rose Friedrich and Jeanette Diedrich.

The casket bearers will be Steven Ashfeld, Dale Hentges, Matt Flugaur, Kevin Ahles, Neil Ahles and Adam Kuseske. St. Anne Choir will provide the music for the service. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Kimball.
