Jerill William Brose was born May 20, 1932 in Annandale to William and Violet (Oletzke) Brose. Jerry was baptized on June 19, 1932 and was confirmed on June 9, 1946, both at Zion Lutheran Church in Annandale. He grew up and attended high school in Annandale, graduating with the Class of 1950. Jerry served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. On August 18, 1956, he was united in marriage to Barbara Schmidt at Concordia Lutheran Church, Fairhaven. They lived in Crystal for a short time and moved back to Annandale in 1963. They were blessed with four children. Barb died in 1994. Jerry's life was blessed again upon marrying Dorothy (Loesch) Warner on April 27, 1996 at Zion Lutheran Church in Annandale. Jerry owned and operated Brose's Barber Shop in Annandale for many years. He sold the shop to Aaron Seiffert, but continued to cut hair until this past year. Jerry loved his work and stated "if you love your job as I did - you've never worked a day in your life." He was a former member of the Annandale Lions Club, Annandale VFW and the Annandale City Planning and Zoning Committee. Jerry enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and mowing the lawn. He always knew what was happening in the area; if not from the barber shop talk, then from cruising around town. Jerry's stories, big smile and kind wave will be greatly missed.
Jerry is survived by his wife Dorothy Brose; four children Shelby Brose of Indianapolis, IN, Jill (Mark) Grieger of Maple Lake, Joddi (Donald) Laney of Buffalo and Steve (Jody) Brose of Annandale; four step-children Patty (Elzy) Lasley of Independence, MO, Tom (Ellen) Cleveland of Waite Park, Tammy Sutliffe of St. Cloud and John (Melissa) Warner of Otsego; twelve grandchildren Aimee, Bryan, William, Jerry, Logan, Owen, Patrick, Scott, Clayton, Ean, Nick and Chris; seven step-grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and five step-great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents William and Vi Brose; first wife Barbara Brose; and sister Ardis Engel.
Military honors will be provided by the Ft. Snelling Memorial Rifle Squad. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Annandale.
