James E. Larson, age 72, of Waverly formerly of Stillwater and Annandale, died Monday, June 6, 2011 at the St. Cloud VA Health Care System.

Memorial Services will be held at 12:00 pm on Sunday, June 12, 2011 at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Harlan Brandstrom will officiate.

James Edwin Larson was born on January 16, 1939 in rural Annandale to Edwin and Gladys (Walberg) Larson. Upon completion of high school, Jim proudly and honorably served our country in the Vietnam and Korean Wars. Upon returning home, he worked for Mid-Minnesota, Kuechle Underground, Don Arens Trucking and other various employers as an over the road truck driver. Jim was united in marriage to Cheryll Skubitz on February 14, 1992 in Buffalo. Jim was most recently employed by Walmart. Jim was a former member of the Stillwater Eagles. In his spare time, Jim could often be found rebuilding old cars and was very knowledgeable about older models. He also enjoyed racing, snowmobiling and casino trips. He often read the newspaper from cover to cover two times a day. Jim also was a big man that had a love for small dogs.

He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Cheryll of Waverly; children, Jim, John, Betsy, Rick, Denyce, Daniel, Frank and Tim (Heidi); 14 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; mother, Gladys Peterson of Waverly; siblings, Winnie LaVine, Judy (Paul) Giese and Patti (Steve) Janey; and other family and friends. Jim is preceded in death by his father, Edwin.

Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care of Annandale.
