Francis “Jackie” J. Borell, age 81, of Maple Lake, died Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Park View Care Center in Buffalo.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 am. Monday, October 1, 2018 at St. Timothy Catholic Church, Maple Lake with Fr. Andrew Stueve as Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Charles Cemetery, Chatham Township. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Sunday and from 9:00-10:00 a.m. on Monday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake. A prayer service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
Francis John Borell was born at home in Chatham Township on May 9, 1937 to John and Evelyn (Fobbe) Borell. On February 27, 1960, he was united in marriage to Glenna Mae Uecker at St. Timothy Catholic Church in Maple Lake. Jackie worked for the Wright County Highway Department for 37 years until his retirement. He then worked for the City of Maple Lake for 7 years. In his spare time, Jackie loved to ice fish, pull pranks on the neighbors, go snowmobiling, and shake dice up at the café. His passions were gardening and taking care of his yard.
Jackie is survived by his wife of 58 years, Glenna of Maple Lake; children, Randy (Marcia) Borell of Maple Lake, Julie (Ray) Reuter of Kansas City, and Jody Kotilinek of Howard Lake; 10 grandchildren, Kristin (Evan), Justin (Ashley), Courtney, John (Molly), Chad (TIa), Christopher (Jackie), David, Chelsey (Charley), Dominic (Elle), and Jordan; 19 great grandchildren, Hailey, Devin, Clara, Charles, Cairo, Chloe, Henry, Calvin, Lawrence, Lucy, Jude, Thomas, Anthony, Leo, Simon, Louis, Francis, June, and Rose; siblings, Donna Anderson, Jim Borell, and Mel (Carole) Borell all of Maple Lake, and Linda (Dave) Stumpf of Texas; and many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Jackie is preceded in death by his parents John and Evelyn, sister Doris Pribyl, sisters-in-law Catherine Borell and LaVonne Paumen, brothers-in-law Al Anderson and Marvin Pribyl.
Jackie’s grandchildren will serve as urnbearers. Krista Elsenpeter Tarbox and Sarah Goelz will provide music for the service. Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Maple Lake.
