Elaine Mae (Salmela) Johnson

Elaine M. Johnson, age 79, of Fairhaven, died Thursday, August 8, 2019 at the St. Cloud Hospital.

Memorial Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Fairhaven Christian Church, Fairhaven with Pastor Ken Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Fairhaven Cemetery. Visitation will be held 9-11 a.m. Wednesday at Fairhaven Christian Church. Memorials are preferred to Fairhaven Christian Church.

Elaine Mae Johnson was born May 21, 1940 in Fairhaven, MN to Benjamin and Ruth (Noyes) Salmela. She graduated in 1958 from Kimball High School. On October 22, 1960 she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Robert M. "Bob" Johnson at Church of Christ in Kimball. Elaine and Bob owned and operated RM Johnson Co. of Annandale and Kimball Railcar Services from 1972 until present. She has lived in the Fairhaven area all her life where she was a member of Fairhaven Christian Church. Elaine loved her family and friends. She was a faithful member of her church, loved her flowers, reading and was an avid scrabble player.

She is survived by three daughters, Kelly (Don) Donabauer of Fairhaven, Kerry Johnson-Nolan (Skip Nolan) of French Lake and Kristy (Tom) Harren of Kimball; brother, Arlen (Verna) Salmela of Fairhaven; sisters, Ardis (Don) Hammer of Minneapolis and Evelyn (Richard) Weisman of Fairhaven; grandchildren, Tiffany, Tabitha, Nicholas, Samantha, J.T. and Tori; great grandchildren, Rean, Thayer, Wynne and Kazden. Elaine was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Bob in 2006.

Lori Miller will provide music for the service. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Kimball.
