Duane D. Gerard, age 84 of Annandale, formerly of South Minneapolis, died from complications of Alzheimers on Sunday, April 21, 2019.

Duane Dallas Gerard was born November 10, 1934 in Minneapolis to Alvin and Evelyn (Walberg) Gerard. He attended high school at South High School in Minneapolis and was a University of Minnesota graduate. He served his country in the US Air Force. On February 1, 1963, Duane was united in marriage to Sandra Sue Seaman at Highland Park Presbyterian Church in North Minneapolis. They made South Minneapolis their home until moving to Lake John near Annandale in 1999. Duane worked as a technical writer at computer and technology companies, primarily Control Data Systems in Bloomington. Duane blazed a trail by programming the first CDI-ROM disc created by IVI Publishing and was presented to investors in Minneapolis and the Mayo Clinic.
Duane is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sandra; and loving daughter, Michele. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Evelyn; and brothers, Raynold and Jerome.
