Donald Andrew Weismann

Donald "Don" A. Weismann, age 92, of Maple Lake, died very peacefully with family by his side on Sunday, December 23, 2018 at Park View Care Center, Buffalo.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at St. Timothy Catholic Church, Maple Lake with Fr. John Meyer as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Timothy Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held 4-8 p.m. on Friday and from 9-10 a.m. on Saturday both at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

Donald Andrew Weismann was born February 2, 1926 in St. Cloud to Leo F. and Lillian M. (Leahy) Weismann. He graduated from Maple Lake High School with the Class of 1944. On September 1, 1947 he was united in marriage to DeLoris M. Wendt in St. Timothy Catholic Church, Maple Lake. DeLoris preceded him in death on April 7, 2009. Don went to work for Security State Bank of Maple Lake working all aspects of the banking business. Don along with Russ Baker, purchased the bank from the A.H. Ney family and he retired in 1985. He lived his entire life in Maple Lake where he was a member of St. Timothy Catholic Church. Don served on the church finance committee, was an usher, eucharistic minister and lecture. He was a member of Father O’Brien’s Council Knights of Columbus #3613, Maple Lake Lions Club and was elected to the Maple Lake City Council. He was a devoted family man, loved his community, ice fishing, duck and pheasant hunting, and he thoroughly enjoyed entertaining everyone with his love of music.

Don is survived by daughters Sandra (Curt) Bode of South Haven and Debra (Ron) Sheldon of Maple Lake; sister Patricia Farrell of White Bear Lake; grandchildren Tricia, Christopher, Ashley and Megan; great grandchildren Makenzie, Tyler, Malayna, Stella, Sophia, Miles and Leo; many nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by his parents, wife and sister Betty Doherty.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Sheldon, Matt Vellance, Steve Iacono, Tyler Iacono, Tim Doherty and Mike Doherty. Krista Elsenpeter and Sarah Goelz will provide music for the service. Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Maple Lake.
