Donald Ahsenmacher, age 80, of Annandale died on Sunday, December 31, 2017 at the St. Cloud Hospital.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Annandale with Fr. George Kallumkalkudy officiating. Burial will be at a later date at Pleasant View Cemetery in Annandale. Visitation will take place 4-7 p.m. Tuesday and 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, both at the church. Parish Prayers will be led by Deacon Ron Freeman at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the church.

Donald was born in Des Moines, Iowa to Francis and Ruth (Chamberlain) Ahsenmacher. He was raised in Des Moines until the family moved to Annandale while he was in high school. Don graduated from Annandale High School with the Class of 1955 where he was a four sport athlete in football, basketball, baseball and track. He served his country with the United States Air Force; he was stationed for most of his service at Ramey Air Force Base in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. Donald married Gladys Klemz on November 16, 1957 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Annandale. He worked many jobs over the years including cutting glass in Red Wing and cutting meat at Holmquist Grocery Store in Buffalo. He also owned his own body repair shop, Annandale Auto Body, and did body repair at Country Chevrolet. Don loved to compete and participated in bowling, golf, softball, and trap shooting leagues and in his later years Thursday night poker. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and coaching little league baseball. He was a great caretaker of his family and loved the time he was able to spend with them, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by wife Gladys; daughters Leanne (Joe) Fernandez and Lynne (Steve) Robasse; son David (Jacquie) Ahsenmacher; ten grandchildren Scott (Annie) Robasse, Casey Smith, Lisa (Troy) Korsmo, Nicole (Steve) Neutz, Rachel Ahsenmacher (Rob Greseth), Bryan (Hope) Ahsenmacher, Brett Ahsenmacher (Mikki Berscheit), Jessica Fernandez (Nathan Evans), Brooke (Brian) Mueller and Bree Ahsenmacher; eleven great grandchildren Aiden, Alex, Lilah, Tyler, Emma, Jasper, Turner, Aubrey, Carter, Madison and Alice. He is preceded in death by his parents Francis and Ruth; and son Duane Ahsenmacher.

The casket bearers will be Scott Robasse, Bryan Ahsenmacher, Brett Ahsenmacher, Troy Korsmo, Steve Neutz, Nathan Evans and Brian Mueller. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Annandale.
