Cindy Helen Opsahl was born in Monticello to Norman and Mildred (Maurer) Weber on September 2, 1950. She grew up in Fairhaven. Cindy attended Kimball High School with the Class of 1967. She was united in marriage to Kenneth Opsahl on November 4, 1967 in Sauk Rapids. Cindy continued her education at Eau Claire Technical College, graduating in 1981 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. Cindy worked various jobs in electronics including Burroughs Corporation in Eau Claire, WI. She also worked in the bakery and deli at Gohmann's Foods in Kimball, managed Coady's Liquor in Annandale, was property manager at Knollwood Apartments in Annandale and sewed for Carlson Dolls in Maple Lake. Cindy was reunited in marriage to Kenneth Opsahl on March 11, 1998 in Buffalo. She was a member of the Kimball American Legion Auxiliary Post 261 and the Wat-Kim-Valley VFW Auxiliary Post 5460. Where Cindy worked is not as important as who she really was. She enjoyed giving of herself to others through countless acts of kindness including baking or cooking for others in need. Her famous banana bread, cookies and other baked goods were a hit with family and friends. Cindy also enjoyed crocheting, glass etching, watching SyFy, gardening, fishing, caring for her animals, playing games with her kids and spoiling her grandchildren. She was a devoted and loving wife, mom, grandma, daughter and sister.
Cindy is survived by her husband Kenneth Opsahl; children Rebecca (Brent) Wessman of Annandale, Jenny (Mike) Beehler of Kimball, Dawn (Jason) Lueders of Kimball and Kyle Opsahl of Tulsa, OK; mother Mildred Fredrick of Kimball; twelve grandchildren Todd, Tyler (Chelsea) and Trever (Samantha) Linder, Stephan (Mallory) Kurkosky, Karlee, Jacob and Ashley Beehler, Zya and Andrew Lueders, Adrian, Dillon and Ember Opsahl; one great grandchild Teagan Linder; brothers and sisters Charles (LaRae) Weber of Casper, WY, Chad (Patty) Weber of St. Cloud, Cal (Marion) Weber of Fairhaven, Steve Fredrick of East Troy, WI and Debbie (Tom) Atkinson of Gilbert, AZ; and sister-in-law Rita Mitchell of South Haven.
