Charles “Chuck” J. Twedt, age 86, of Otsego, MN & Sebring, FL, formerly of Annandale, died Friday, October 20, 2017 at the Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
Funeral Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 26, 2017 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Annandale with Rev. Dave Nelson officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Burial will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery, Annandale at a later date.
Charles Joseph Twedt was born July 4, 1931 to Joseph and Charlotte (Olson) Twedt in Estherville, Iowa. Chuck spent his first years in Iowa, before moving with his family to Annandale in the early 1940’s. Upon his graduation from Annandale High School, Chuck worked as an aide at the Willmar State Hospital. In 1951, he entered the United States Air Force, where he honorably served as a medic in Wichita Falls, Texas. While in the service he also took college courses. He worked as a sales rep. for Upjohn Pharmaceutical Company for roughly 10 years before he began his 20-year career with Casey’s General Store. Chuck worked as one of their real estate brokers, and was responsible for the purchasing of land for their stores. He was also an instructor for 20 years with Dale Carnegie Training, leading seminars for those in sales. On February 19, 1972 Chuck was united in marriage to Donnis Rae Snyder in Princeton, Illinois. Chuck & Donnis made their home on Bass Lake near Annandale, before purchasing their motorhome and splitting their time between Otsego, MN and Sebring, FL. Chuck was a member of the Clearwater American Legion, as well as St. John’s Lutheran Church.
Chuck is survived by his wife of 45 years, Donnis; children, Don (Terri) of Lakeville, Judy (Craig) Jensen of Savage, Cindy (Russ) Anderson of Rockford, and Brenda (Randy) Lokken of Minnetonka; 6 grandsons; 3 great granddaughters; sister, Joan Schuur of Princeton; and nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his son Joe, parents, brother Duane, sister & brother-in-law Mary & Dick Delano, son-in-law, Robb McWilliams, and brother-in-law, Roger Schuur.
Chuck’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Orma Lou Jacobsma will provide music for the service. Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Annandale.
