Betty Lenore (Hardy) Freeman

Betty L. Freeman, age 89, of Annandale, died Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at the Annandale Care Center.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Annandale with Rev. David Nelson officiating. Visitation will be held 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Annandale and 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 5 at Woodlawn Cemetery in Annandale.

Betty Lenore Freeman was born October 8, 1930 in Dassel, Minnesota to John Clifford and Eva (Clement) Hardy. Betty was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Episcopal Church in Litchfield. She grew up in Dassel, where she attended school, graduating with the Class of 1948. On June 12, 1948 she was united in marriage to Lawrence Freeman at Trinity Episcopal Church. They remained in Dassel for a couple of years before moving to Pierre, South Dakota, and finally settling in Annandale in 1962. They owned and operated Freeman Electric & Freeman Variety in Annandale. Betty also worked at Red Owl and Marketplace in Annandale. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Annandale, LCW, multiple church choirs, Old Timers Sewing Club in Dassel, multiple bowling leagues and a bridge club. Betty loved to sing with her sister, bowl and play bridge.

Betty is survived by her children, Ronald (Carol) Freeman of Annandale, Virginia Kaiser of Winsted, and Joni Ferrell of Prescott Valley, AZ; 10 grandchildren, Cami Freeman of Otsego, Cori (Rick) Ragan of Delano, Rachel (Jeremy) Freeman of San Diego, Rhesa Freeman of Roseville, Andy (Danielle) Freeman of Kimball, Ashley (Joe) Maurer of Clearwater, Allyssa (Carter) Kittock of St. Michael, Meagan Ferrell of Annandale, Melissa Kaiser (Rodney Bergstrom) of Coon Rapids and Rob Kaiser (Holly Buford) of Chesterfield, MI; 18 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; sisters-in-law, Dolores Hogberg and Sandy Freeman; brother-in-law, John O'Fallon; and many nieces, nephews, other family members, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence; parents, Cliff & Eva Hardy; great-grandchildren, Dalton Ambli and Charlee McNitt; son-in-law, Mike Ferrell; brothers, Jack and Duane Hardy; sister, Joan Benson; and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

The pallbearers will be Andy Freeman, Joe Maurer, Rick Ragan, Carter Kittock, Jeremy Freeman and Rob Kaiser. Arrangements entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Annandale.
