Bernett E. Lappi, age 98, of Annandale, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 4, 2019.
Memorial Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 19, 2019 at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
Bernett Elouise Lappi was born March 12, 1921 in Regina, Saskatchewan to Bernard and Sfronia “Fronie” (McClees) Bergren. She spent her school years in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She met Reino “Ray” Lappi in Cokato, Minnesota and they were united in marriage on March 14, 1942 in Minneapolis. They raised their family and spent their working lives in the Bryn Mawr area of Minneapolis where Bernett worked for Prudential for 21 years before retiring in May of 1976. Their later years were spent at their homes on Lake Sylvia in South Haven and in Annandale. Her leisure time was spent with close friends and family gambling/playing cards, fishing, golfing, cooking, sewing, quilting and cheering on the Vikings. Bernett had passion and love for her daughters, children, grandchildren and any baby she would encounter. Her smile, contagious laugh and full hugs will be greatly missed.
Bernett is survived by her grandchildren, Chris, Steve, Matt, Jonathan and Stacey, as well as 5 great-grandchildren, Donyea, Kaylee, Evan, Campbell and Ben. She was preceded in death by her husband, Reino “Ray”, daughters, Kathleen Thompson and Gail Cooley; and brother, Russell Bergren.
