Ashley E. Zylstra, age 30, of Waseca, formerly of Maple Lake, died Wednesday, October 3, 2018 in Rochester.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 12, 2018 at Annandale Evangelical Free Church in Annandale with Pastor Denny Johnson officiating. Visitation will be held 3-7 p.m. Thursday, October 11, 2018 at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church. Burial will take place at Lakeview Cemetery in Maple Lake at a later date.
Ashley Elizabeth Zylstra was born November 13, 1987 in St. Cloud to David and Darlene (Hokkanen) Zylstra. She grew up in rural Maple Lake and graduated from Annandale High School with the Class of 2006. Ashley furthered her education at Mankato State. She enjoyed hanging out with friends, long talks with family, watching Golden Girls and cheering on the Vikings. Her life revolved around her two children and loving fiancé Bill. Together as a family they enjoyed fishing, swimming and spending time together. Earlier this year Bill took Ashley to Hawaii to show her where he planned to marry her this upcoming January. In 2017, Ashley survived her battle with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma with the help of her family by her side every step of the way. She will be remembered for her kind heart, sense of humor, quick wit and huge smile.
She is survived by her son Eliah Flintrop; daughter Adriana Flintrop; mother Darlene Zylstra of Maple Lake; fiancé William (Bill) Fuller of Waseca; sisters and brothers Kelley (Erik) Johnson of Bloomington, Joe (Jody) Zylstra of Annandale, Alison (Ben) Menk of Hayward, WI and Ryan (Lisa) Zylstra of Monticello; nieces and nephews; and grandmother Adeline Hokkanen of Annandale. Ashley is preceded in death by her father David Zylstra; and grandparents Henry Zylstra, Anna Zylstra Dalman, John Dalman and Howard Hokkanen.
The casket bearers will be Kelley Johnson, Joe Zylstra, Alison Menk and Ryan Zylstra. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Annandale.
