Yvonne Muriel Hoffman was born July 26, 1931 in Annandale, Minnesota to Victor and Ethel (Flodin) Gunnarson. She was also affectionately referred to as Gongy, a nickname given to her by her brother, Daryl at a young age. Yvonne grew up in the Annandale area, where she completed high school with the Class of 1949. On April 29, 1950, she was united in marriage to Herbert W. Hoffman in Thief River Falls, Minnesota. They made their homes in various communities across the nation including New York, Madison, Wisconsin, Billings, Montana, and Portland, Oregon before settling in the Richfield area. Yvonne worked as an assembler for Control Data in Minneapolis for 30+ years, retiring in 1996. Yvonne & Herbert wintered at the Rock Shadows RV Park in Apache Junction, AZ for many years, where Yvonne was an active member of the Red Hat Society, Gourmet Cooking Club, and modeled for their annual fashion show. Yvonne was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, as well as the South Haven VFW Auxiliary #7332. She and Herbert volunteered their time at Pioneer Park as well as the VFW food volunteer program through Wright County Community Action.  Yvonne was an honorary member of “Da Band”, as she often fed the group before their performances. In her spare time, Yvonne enjoyed baking, especially her highly sought-after rum cakes, tending to her flower garden, spending time at the family cabin on Lake John. Always enjoying socializing with family and friends and utilizing her gourmet cooking skills, Yvonne loved to entertain. It was impossible to leave her home hungry. She will lovingly be remembered for her many unique attributes and her creative craft projects.

Yvonne is survived by her three daughters, Lynn (Leon) Doxtad of Sioux City, IA, Cynthia Hoffman of Minneapolis, and Jo D’Ann Hoffman of Minneapolis; grandson, Keith (Jen) Roupe of McCook Lake, SD; great granddaughter, Piper Roupe; sister-in-law, Jan (Denny) Nelson of Three Forks, Montana; and many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Herbert, and brother Daryl Gunnarson.

Lane Rundblade, Terry Rundblade, Keith Roupe, Jerry Kuseske, Dewey Gunnarson, and Dave Hintz will serve as pallbearers. Orma Lou Jacobsma will provide music for the service. Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Annandale.
