Verna Jean Krauter, age 86, of Maple Lake, died Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at her son’s home in Plymouth.

  Memorial Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Annandale, Minnesota. Visitation will be held one hour prior. Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 12, 2017 at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery near Mandan, North Dakota.

  Verna Jean Krauter was born October 2, 1930 to John and Ruby (Christanson) Bilges in Cedar Creek Township in Slope County, North Dakota. Verna grew up near New England, North Dakota where she attended school. She raised her family in Bloomington, Minnesota. She returned to New England, North Dakota for a time before moving to Cedar Lake near Maple Lake, Minnesota for the past 20 years. On October 29, 1983 she was united in marriage to Mike Krauter in Las Vegas, Nevada. Verna enjoyed playing bingo and pulling slots. She liked to visit with family members and friends and truly enjoyed family get-togethers.

  Verna is survived by her children, Curt (Becky) Rustad of Plymouth, Kim (Kurt) Kiffmeyer of Bloomington, Kelly (Ray) Jungbauer of Minneapolis, and Melanie (Larry) Kramer of Maple Lake; step-son, Wayne (Cecelia) Haynes of Chouteau, MT; daughter-in-law, Ann Rustad of Bloomington; 16 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; siblings, June Ottolino of Billings, MT, Roland Bilges of Minneapolis, Lauren Bilges of Minneapolis, Linda (Bobby) Varner of Baker, MT, Terry Bilges of Butte, MT, Roger (LeeBee) Bilges of Great Falls, MT; sister-in-law, Norma Bilges of Long View, TX; and many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Michael, husband Mike, granddaughter Melissa Kramer, siblings Jerome Bilges, Bonnie Bilges, and Bonita Huhen.
