Thomas R. Feela, age 81, of Maple Lake, formerly of Isanti, died Saturday, November 14, 2015 at his home under hospice care.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 20, 2015 at St. Timothy Catholic Church, Maple Lake with Fr. John Meyer as Celebrant. Visitation will be held 5:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake and from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Friday also at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. A prayer service will be held 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Thomas Richard Feela was born December 16, 1933 in Browerville, Minnesota to Frank and Helen (Hanych) Feela. Tom attended country school near Browerville while working on the family farm. He then moved to Minneapolis and began working in a machine shop. On December 22, 1952 Tom was united in marriage to Lucille Buhl in Mason City, Iowa. Tom entered the United States Army during the Korean War and upon his honorable discharge, he returned to his job at the machine shop. He went on to work many years as a truck driver for various companies, while he also farmed. Tom and Lucille raised their family in Isanti, where they resided until 2003, when they moved to Maple Lake. Upon his retirement, Tom remained busy working at various jobs. Tom was a member of the Isanti American Legion as well as the Maple Lake American Legion. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking and all things outdoors; golfing, fishing, ice fishing, snowmobiling, camping, deer hunting, and gardening. Tom will long be remembered for his landscaping abilities and his impeccable lawn.

Tom is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lucille of Maple Lake; sons and their wives, Mike and Linda Feela of Otsego and Larry and Cindy Feela of Otsego; 4 grandchildren; siblings, Loretta Line of Clarissa, Ted (Theresa) Feela of Pine City, Clarence (Betty) Feela of Pine City, Frank Feela of St. Francis, and Jerome (Alvina) Feela of Deer River; and many nieces, nephews and other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Helen, and brothers, Florian, Raymond, Matt and Arnold.

Jim McTighs, Doug Marquart, Tony Feela, Glen Buhl, Greg Krekelberg, and Jake Demary/Feela will serve as pallbearers. Sarah Goelz and Krista Elsenpeter Tarbox will provide music for the service. Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Maple Lake.
