Richard “Dick” N. Meyer, age 86, of Annandale died Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at his home surrounded by the love and care of his family.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church with Fr. George Kallumkalkudy as Celebrant. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the church. Interment will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Richard Norman Meyer was born February 21, 1930 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Norman and Grace Meyer. He was a 1948 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School in St. Paul. Richard honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. On May 23, 1953 Dick was united in marriage to Jeanette Charlotte Bartel. They resided in Mounds View while Dick worked as the office manager of Fruehauf Trailer Company in Roseville. Dick was a gifted accordion player. In his spare time, Dick enjoyed fishing and in his younger years he liked to bowl. Above all, Dick treasured the time he was able to spend with his family.
Dick is survived by his daughter, Cindy Kropik and husband Kenny of Springville, CA, son, Gary Meyer of Annandale; 4 grandchildren, Jason, Jesse, James and Matthew Davis; 5 great grandchildren, Ashley, Isabella, Kyndra, Jasmine, and Ayla. He was preceded in death by his wife Jeanette, parents, and brother William.
Dick’s family will serve as urnbearers. Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Annandale.
