Ralph T. Fobbe, age 90, of Maple Lake died Sunday, April 17, 2016 at the Lake Ridge Care Center in Buffalo, Minnesota.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 22, 2016 at St. Timothy Catholic Church in Maple Lake with Fr. John Meyer as the Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Timothy’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday and from 9:00-10:00 a.m. on Friday, both at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
Ralph Thomas Fobbe was born July 13, 1925 in Maple Lake Township to John and Ellen “Nellie” (Ward) Fobbe II. He grew up on the family farm and attended country school. He continued working on the family farm in addition to other farms. At the age of 18, Ralph entered the United States Army and honorably served his country during World War II. Upon his discharge he returned home and on October 2, 1948 he was united in marriage to Dorothy Ann Juetten at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Annandale. After their wedding, they briefly lived with Dorothy’s parents before they purchased the Fobbe Family farm. Ralph worked construction for Orfei’s and Sons for 25 years along with running the farm. Ralph was an active member of the Maple Lake American Legion and the VFW. He was also a member of Farmer’s Union as well as St. Timothy’s Catholic Church. Ralph volunteered his time for Wright County Community Action, as well as the Wright County Human Services helping at Thanksgiving and Christmas Holiday Projects. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, traveling, and gardening. Ralph enjoyed socializing and was liked by everyone. Ralph’s greatest enjoyment was the time he was able to spend with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Ralph is survived by his children, Michael (Jean) Fobbe, Patrick Fobbe, Richard (Jolynn) Fobbe, and Debra (Grant) Krohn all of Maple Lake; 6 grandchildren, Shawn and Shannon Krohn, both of Maple Lake, Michelle Killian of Minneapolis, Tara Buermann of Kimball, Jena Pauls of Kimball, and Brooke Geyen of Minneapolis; 9 great grandchildren, Courtney, Katlyn, Erin, Malia, Zoe, Ralph, Kadon, Maddy, and Kyra; brother, Mark (Pearl) Fobbe of Maple; sisters-in-law, Ethel Fobbe and Naomi Fobbe both of Maple Lake; and many nieces, nephews and other family members and friends. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, wife, grandson, Adam Hansen, brothers, John III, Raymond, Roy, and Donald Fobbe, and sisters, Viola Desmarais and Mabel Ann Emon.
John Ward, Tom Ward, Paul Fobbe, Tim Fobbe, Kevin Elfstrand, and Jessi Knese will serve as pallbearers. Krista Elsenpeter-Tarbox and Shannon Paumen will provide music for the service. Arrangements are entrusted by Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Maple Lake.
