Phyllis C. Paler, age 76, of Annandale, died Saturday, May 6, 2017 at the Monticello CentraCare Health Care Center in Monticello, Minnesota with the love and care of her family by her side.

Memorial Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 12, 2017 at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale with Deacon Ron Freeman officiating. Burial will follow at the Maple Lake Community Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Friday.

Phyllis Cecelia Paler was born on December 10, 1940 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Torrey and Amy (Anderson) Rustad. Phyllis grew up in the Anoka area where she also graduated from high school with the Class of 1959. Phyllis lived in the Fergus Falls area for approximately 25 years, prior to moving to the Annandale area 10 years ago. Over the years, Phyllis worked in various nursing homes and hospitals as a dietary aide, while also helping on the farm. In her spare time, Phyllis enjoyed gardening, dogs, and spending time with her family, especially her grandkids and great grandkids.

Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann Mueller of Norwood Young America; 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; siblings, Corrine Rustad of Chula Vista, CA., Priscilla Rustad of Fargo, ND.,  Bonnie Rustad of Lemon Grove, CA., Jan (Mike) Rivers of Maple Lake, MN., James (Carla) Rustad of Ramsey, MN., and Robin Madla of Grove City, MN. She was preceded in death by her sons, Steve Scales and Bruce Scales, parents, and siblings, Julie, Harlan, and Charlie.

Phyllis’s grandchildren and great grandchildren will serve as urnbearers. Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Annandale.
