Muriel M. Rassat, age 87, of Maple Lake died Monday, November 16, 2015 at the St. Cloud Hospital.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 23, 2015 at St. Timothy Catholic Church in Maple Lake with Fr. Martin Shallbetter as the Celebrant. Burial will be at 10:05 a.m. Tuesday at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, assembly area 1. Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Sunday and 9-10 a.m. Monday, both at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake.
Muriel Monica Rassat was born January 30, 1928 in Maple Lake to Lester and Elsie (Provo) Kotilinek. She graduated with the Class of 1945 from Maple Lake High School. On November 3, 1948, she was united in marriage to Clarence Rassat at St. Timothy Catholic Church, Maple Lake. Muriel was a member of St. Timothy Catholic Church, where she was active in the CCW and the National Catholic Society of Foresters. She enjoyed cooking, baking, flowers, gardening and Twins baseball. She loved the time that she spent with her grandchildren and family.
Muriel is survived by her children Bob (Jackie) of Buffalo, Dan (special friend Sharon Helmbrecht) of Maple Lake, Ron (Jody) of Maple Lake, Cheryl Blackwell of Surprise, AZ and Joe (special friend Dawn Nelson) of Maple Lake; sisters Dorothy Blizil of Maple Lake and Joyce (Gerald) Paumen of Buffalo; 16 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Lester and Elsie Kotilinek; husband Clarence in 2002; sister Lucille Schmitz; granddaughter Heather Albachten; and great grandson Matthew Trigg.
The casket bearers will be Tom Neu, Mark, Sam, Brent and Jay Rassat and Chad Blackwell. Honorary casket bearers will be Stacie Castorena, Melanie Pfeiler, Megan Trigg and Melissa Carriveau. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Maple Lake.
