Mary Josephine Logeais was born October 10, 1935 to Philip and Josephine (Gehlen) Bongaarts in Glencoe, Minnesota. Mary Jo and her family remained in the Glencoe area until her father sold the store. They then moved to a farm near Kimball where Mary Jo grew up and attended school. She graduated from Kimball High School in 1953. Following her graduation, Mary Jo was a caregiver for her sister’s family as they traveled across the nation. She also worked for a short time in Minneapolis. On August 21, 1957, Mary Jo was united in marriage to Francis “Ozzie” Canute Logeais at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Kimball. In addition to working outside the home as the bookkeeper for the family business, Logeais Oil, Mary Jo also kept the home in order and raised her four children. Mary Jo’s faith and her church were imperative to her life. Some of her contributions to her faith community were through teaching faith formation, belonging to the CCW, being one of the first women Eucharistic Ministers at St. Ignatius, delivering Meals on Wheels, and various other positions at church. In her spare time, Mary Jo enjoyed tending to her gardens, feeding the birds and squirrels, birdwatching, swimming, hosting pool parties, bowling, and playing cards. Mary Jo was a faithful supporter of the drummer for the Earl Baker Band. She and Ozzie loved to travel the world together. Above all, Mary Jo treasured the time she was able to spend with her family.

Mary is survived by her children, Mike (Ali) of Minneapolis, Steve (Mary Jo) of Annandale, Greg (Kelly) of Maple Lake, and Michele (Bryan) Harju of South Haven; 9 granchildren, John, Mitch, Sara, Abby, Tom, and Nate Logeais, Anthony, Elizabeth, and Bryanna Harju; 1 great granddaughter, Brynlee Logeais; siblings, John (Judy) Bongaarts of Delano and Janice (Jim) Dircks of Plymouth; brother-in-law, Jim (Renee) Logeais of Annandale; sister-in-law, Carol (Jim) Goelz of Maple Lake; and many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Mary Jo was preceded in death by her husband Ozzie, parents Philip & Josephine Bongaarts, siblings Phylis (Francis) Bruns, Beatrice (Bob) Kurkowski, Bernice (Joe) Masberg, sister-in-law Donna Bongarts, and parents-in-law Canute and Lillian Logeais.
