Marcia A. Burfeind, age 69, of Kimball, formerly of Crystal, died Monday, June 27, 2016 at the St. Cloud Hospital.

 

Memorial Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 7, 2016 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kimball with Rev. David Milz officiating.  Burial will follow at Kimball Cemetery.  Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Kimball with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.  Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Coborn Cancer Center or St. John’s Lutheran Church, Kimball.

 

Marcia Ann Burfeind was born November 10, 1946 in Decorah, Iowa to Vernon and Anna (Kelly) Nelson.  She graduated with the Class of 1964 from John Marshall High School in Rochester and continued her education at Rochester Community College.  On September 23, 1967, Marcia was united in marriage to Keith Burfeind at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Zumbrota.  They lived for 32 years in Crystal prior to moving to Kimball in 2005.  Marcia worked for 17 years for the Robbinsdale School District as a para professional in the Science Department.  In 2007, she retired from Human Resources at Hennepin County after 12 years of service.  Marcia is a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Kimball, Kimball American Legion Auxiliary Post 261 and the 40/8 Voyager 415 Cabana.  She enjoyed making jewelry, sugaring up her grandkids, traveling to Florida and family gatherings.  She loved her time on the water and the time she spent with her family.

 

Marcia is survived by her husband Keith Burfeind of Kimball; daughter Kelli Burfeind of Golden Valley; son & his wife Jon & Sara Burfeind of Zimmerman; four grandchildren Lamar, Ella, Avae and Hans; and brother & his wife Mike & Pattie Nelson of Albert Lea.  She is preceded in death by her parents Vernon and Anna Nelson; and sisters Mary Beckrich and Marlene Nelson.

 

The urn bearers will be Chad Nelson, Whitney Gunhus, Lamar Burfeind and Angie Langlie.   Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Kimball.
