Loyd “Charlie” Lievsay, age 89, of Maple Lake, formerly of Big Falls, died on Wednesday February 7, 2018 at Prairie Senior Cottages in Hutchinson.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 2-4 p.m. Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at the Maple Lake American Legion with a sharing of memories taking place at approximately 3 p.m. A memorial service will take place in Big Falls and a committal service will take place in Willmar, both at a later date.

Loyd “Charlie” Lievsay was born in Arkansas to Edward and Grace (Parks) Lievsay on February 25, 1928. He was married to Betty Carlton in Northome and she preceded him in death. He worked in production at Page & Hills Forest Products in Big Falls and was self employed as a logger and as a carpenter. Charlie was united in marriage to Margery Adee McClanahan on September 20, 2014 at River of God Church, Big Falls. He was a good neighbor that was helpful to others in need. He was a handyman that could fix anything. Charlie enjoyed woodworking, repairing small engines and listening to old county music songs and singing along. He loved visiting with friends over a cup of coffee and spending time with his family.

Charlie is survived by spouse Margery McClanahan-Lievsay; children Charles (Geri) Walker, Lloyd Lievsay (fiance Kathi Olson), Delores Holt, Jo (Scott) Burton, Kathleen Vaughn (fiance Rick Lockhart) and Kenneth Lievsay; special family member Gail Lievsay; grandchildren Scott, Charlotte, Loyd, Dianna, Levi, Michelle, Amy, Tina, Tim, David and Nicole; step-children Joe, Roseann, Leo, Jr., Lee, Marty, Laura, Elizabeth, Steve, Robert, John and Dawn; 28 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; former wife Emma Johnson of Spokanne, WA; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends. He is preceded in death his parents Edward and Grace Lievsay; wife Betty Lievsay; daughter Charlotte Diane Walker; great granddaughter Gracie; brothers and sisters Annis Lievsay, Zona Harshfield, Jack Lievsay, Anniebelle Rhinehart, Fannie Lievsay, John Lievsay, Elizabeth Englund, Boyer Lievsay, and Lowell “Bud” Lievsay; and twin brother Floyd “Dobo” Lievsay.
