Lois E. Erger, age 90, of Buffalo formerly Maple Lake and Kimball passed peacefully on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Lakeside Oasis End of Life, Buffalo, MN, surrounded by her family.

Lois Elaine Foster was born May 4, 1927 in Harrisburg, SD to Cecil F. and Kathryn S. (Brummett) Foster. She graduated with the class of 1945 from Washington High School, Sioux Falls, SD. On June 15, 1948 Lois was united in marriage to George Joseph Erger in Sioux Falls, SD. Lois and George raised ten children. Lois always supported her children in their adventures in life and provided them advice and guidance. Lois also worked and retired from 3M after 15 years. Her passion for interior design was reflected in her Home Interiors and Home & Garden businesses. Her love for her family and friends was great and was expressed in so many ways. An exchange of a look, the sharing a hug, a smile, a cup of coffee and dessert or even a phone call...it really didn’t matter how; it was just there without hesitation. All that we know about grace we learned from her. She loved without fear or judgement. She was the kindest person who never placed censure on anyone and upheld her values no matter what. She had an intuition that was remarkable which made her both steadfast and mysterious at the same time. She taught each of us so many things about life; she showed us in her actions and words how each moment is a blessing.

Lois is survived by 9 children, Susan (Tom) Settje of Sun City West, AZ, Patty (Randy) Settje of Sun City West, AZ, Dan of Brighton, CO, John of Kimball, Colette VanVleet of Waite Park, Rebecca Sitz of Fargo, ND, Barbara (Alex) Hopewell of Golden Valley, Mark (Natalie) of Chesapeake, VA, Lori of St. Cloud; 18 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, George; son, Robert; grandson, Aaron Pulkrabek; brothers, Clair, Bruce, Dale and Alvin; sisters, Lorraine Sorenson and Wilma Norton.
