Joyce E. Olson, age 71, of Kimball, died Monday, September 5, 2016 at Quiet Oaks Hospice House near St. Cloud surrounded by her family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 8, 2016 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Kimball with Fr. Thomas Olson as the Celebrant. Visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 a.m. on Thursday at the church. Burial will be held at a later date at the Kimball Cemetery.

Joyce Elizabeth Olson was born October 30, 1944 in St. Cloud, Minnesota to Lester and Evelyn (Rosenow) Stelten. Joyce grew up with her family in Kimball where she graduated with the Class of 1962. Following graduation, Joyce worked various administrative jobs in Minneapolis as well as in St. Cloud. On November 29, 1969 Joyce was united in marriage to Thomas Olson at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Kimball. After their marriage, Joyce and Tom resided in Kimball while she raised their children. After, Brent and Kristy attended school, Joyce went to work for Gohmann’s Foods. In her spare time, Joyce enjoyed going for walks and participating in Zumba, and also baby-sitting her great nieces and nephews. She enjoyed reading, bird watching, flowers, and traveling. Above all, Joyce treasured the time she was able to spend with her family and friends.

Joyce is survived by her husband of 46 years, Tom of Kimball; children, Brent Olson (significant other, Melissa McCarthy) of St. Cloud and Kristy Olson of Long Beach, CA; siblings, James (Patty) Stelten of Kimball, Janice Stelten, of St. Cloud, Mary (Steve) Peplelnjak of Phoenix, Trish (Dave) Strohmeier of Watkins, Robert (Cindy) Stelten of Kimball, and Diane (James) Fast of Hutchinson; and many nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Lester and Evelyn and brother Duane Stelten.

Shawn Fast, Jamie Morford, Adam, Ryan, Robert and James Stelten will serve as pallbearers. Kathy Pauls and St. Anne’s Choir will provide music for the service. Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Kimball.
