Joyce F. Martin, age 89, of Annandale, formerly of Hamel, died Thursday February 8, 2018 at the St. Cloud Hospital.
Funeral Services will be held 4:00 p.m., Thursday, February 15, 2018 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Annandale with Rev. Dave Nelson officiating. Burial will take place 10:05 a.m. Friday, February 16 at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, assembly area #1. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church.
Joyce was born in Minneapolis to Harold and Bernice (Miller) Turk on October 30, 1928. She grew up in Minneapolis and graduated from North High School. Joyce was united in marriage to Charles A. Martin on August 23, 1947 in Wisconsin and he preceded her in death on September 8, 2000. They owned and operated Martin Sporting Goods in Hamel for over 18 years, retiring in 1978. Joyce was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Annandale, The Order of the Eastern Star Vesta Chapter 128 and the Maple Lake V.F.W. Post 7664 Auxiliary. She enjoyed her Bible study, gardening, watching Wheel of Fortune and Dancing with the Stars and doing large puzzles.
Joyce is survived by her daughters Sharon (Howard) Veldhuizen of Milaca and Gail (David) Berndt of Anoka; grandchildren Dennis, Jr. (Angie) Hill, Jason Hill, Scott Berndt (Tanya Coelho) and Stacy Berndt; and great grandchildren Dylan, Alex, Mira and Xander. She is preceded in death by her husband Charles Martin; and parents Harold and Bernice Turk.
