John A. LeBrun, age 67, of Staples, formerly of Maple Lake, died Saturday, December 27, 2008 in Brownsville, Texas where he and his wife spend the winter months.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 3, 2009 at Zion United Methodist Church, South Haven with Rev. Heather E. Klason officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Cemetery, South Haven. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake and one hour prior to services at the Church. There will be a prayer service 7:30 p.m. Friday.

John Andrew LeBrun was born April 23, 1941 in Minneapolis to Albert and Lillian (Bye) LeBrun. He married Darlene Johnson on March 7, 1960. John was a meat cutter in the Twin Cities area for several years and from 1979-1985 a meat processing instructor at the Dakota County Vo-Tech School; since then he did carpentry work. He was a member of Zion United Methodist Church and a former member of the Maple Lake Lions Club. He enjoyed singing, fishing, & golfing and always kept busy by doing projects.

He is survived by his wife, Darlene of Staples; four sons & their wives, John Jr. & Cindy of London, OH, James & Barbara of Eagan, Scott & Darcy of Maple Lake, Jay & Lori of Becker; three brothers & their wives, Don & Pat Cooper of Becker, Robert & Bev Cooper of Crystal, Albert & Karen LeBrun of Mountain Home, AR; 11 grandchildren; and 1 great granddaughter. His parents, an infant sister, and a sister in law, Donna Cooper preceded him in death.

The pallbearers will be grandsons, John III, Christopher, Justin, Jason, Ryan, and Austin LeBrun. Susan Black & Janelle Johnson will provide the music for the service and the arrangements were entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care.
