Irvin L. Scott, age 90, of Annandale died Monday, May 8, 2017 at the St. Cloud Hospital.

Memorial Services will be held 4:00 p.m. Thursday, May 11, 2017 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Annandale with Rev. David Nelson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, Thursday, at the church. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Rochester.

Irvin Lloyd Scott was born January 14, 1927 in Gibbon, Nebraska to Lloyd and Clara (Rapp) Scott. He graduated from East Des Moines High School. Irvin served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War. On July 1, 1950, he was united in marriage to J. Lorenchia Nygaard at Bethel Lutheran Church in Rochester. He worked as a Printer and Lithographer while completing his Bachelor Degree in Education from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. Irvin then taught at the Minneapolis Vocational School and the Minneapolis Work Opportunity Center.

Irvin was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Annandale where he was in the church choir and the Men’s Bible Study. He was a former member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Bloomington where he served on the Church Council. Irvin was a member of the Kiwanas and served as a Cub Scout and Boy Scout leader. He enjoyed sailing, boating, gardening, camping, singing, telling jokes and spending time with his family.

Irvin is survived by his wife Lorenchia; sons Charles (Deb) Scott of Falcon Heights and Kevin (Stephanie) Scott of Annandale; grandchildren Jason Scott (Jodi Kendall), Rachel (Chad) DeGroat, Jessica Scott (Brandon Brosvik), Stephanie (Dave) Scott, Rebecca (Robert, Jr.) Gonzalez, Kelly Mendel (Bryan Voigt), Jesse Mendel, Andrea (Jason) Geer, Mike (Maegen) Goedken, Marisa (Mike) Arlt and Tom (Becky) Goedken; great grandchildren Lucas, Brayden, Aaron, Jake, Mildred, Charolette, Julian, Madeleine, Samuel, Jack, Savannah, Gwen, Aaron, Hollis, Ike and Ryan; sister Marlene (Richard) VanTuinen of Longmont, CO; and sister-in-law Lucille Scott of Ludlow, MA. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Douglas.

Members of the St. John’s Lutheran Church Men’s Bible Study will serve as urn bearers. The music will be provided by Orma Lou Jacobsma. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Annandale.
