Harold S. Anderson, age 95, of Annandale, died peacefully on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at the St. Cloud Hospital.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 20, 2015 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Annandale with Pastor Gary Finken officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, French Lake. Visitation will be held one hour prior the service at the church on Friday.

Harold Stanley Anderson was born April 2, 1920 in Annandale to Edwin and Anna Louise (Dahlen) Anderson. He was baptized at St. John’s Lutheran Church on June 27, 1920 and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran on September 13, 1936. Harry grew up on the family farm and attended Lee School near French Lake. Harold proudly served his country during World War II in the United States Army from May 1942 to October 1945. He fought in the mountains of Italy and was awarded a Purple Heart and 3 battle stars. Upon his discharge, he returned to the Annandale area. On July 15, 1950, Harold was united in marriage to Lucille Elizabeth Olson at Immanuel Lutheran Church near French Lake. They bought a farm on the south side of Goose Lake in French Lake Township, where they still live. He briefly worked for Joki Dry Cleaners in Annandale and Tonka Toys, before his 25-year employment at Leef Brothers Laundry in Minneapolis where he and Lucille commuted daily. He retired in 1983. Harold enjoyed raising cattle and farming, reading, and fishing in his spare time. Harry had a special love for German shepherd dogs, as he had many beloved dogs over the years. Harry will fondly be remembered as a kind-hearted man.

Harold is survived by his wife of 65 years, Lucille of Annandale; brother, Walter Anderson of Buffalo; and many special nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Robert, sister Luella Vansteenburg.

Dean Kaskinen, Rollie Werner, Joshua Rosten, Skip Nolan, Jeff Bach and Terry Bach will serve as pallbearers. Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Annandale.
