Frances Adeline Dahlmeier , age 94, of Spring Lake Park, MN, passed away on November 30, 2008. Memorial services will be held 11:00, December 22, at Our Abiding Savior Lutheran Church, 8211 Red Oak Drive, Mounds View, MN. 56112. Memorials preferred to Our Abiding Savior Lutheran Church.

Frances was born on April 10, 1914 in Cherry Grove, Minnesota. She was the oldest of seven children born to Albert and Amelia (Korbitz) Nauman. Her father was an Evangelical United Brethren minister. He was assigned new parishes every two years. Consequently, the family was moved often from one small Minnesota town to another. Frances graduated from Fergus Falls High School and then continued her college education at Pipestone Normal College where she completed her two-year teaching degree. She also completed her 'MRS' degree when she met Stanley Dahlmeier. They were married in Spring Valley,MN. in 1936. They had a very small family wedding with Frances' father (Albert Nauman) presiding and honeymooned in Minneapolis. They lived in the Pipestone area for two years where Stanley farmed and Frances taught grades K-8 in a one room school. In 1938 they moved to Spring Valley, Minnesota where they built a restaurant and filling station. Daughter, Phyllis, was born there in 1938. Their next move (in 1942) was to the Minneapolis/St. Paul area where Frances and Stanley worked as a team eventually building homes, apartments, motels, and a racquetball club in the Spring Lake Park and Fridley area. During this time their son Bruce was born (1949). Frances was active in the Spring Lake Park Lutheran Church, now Our Abiding Savior, as the organist and President of the Ladies Aid. She initiated the Annual Smorgasbord as a fundraiser for the Ladies Aid. She leaves many wonderful memories with her 6 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Her 'Wolf Story' as handed down from her Mother was everyone's favorite. Glorious weekends at their summer cabin on Lake Sylvia....the annual Nauman Christmas Party where the nieces and nephews would don costumes and perform the Nativity..singing Christmas Carols with Frances at her organ. Now the grandchildren and the great grandchildren carry out this tradition every Christmas. She loved to cook, bake and entertain ...And she was good at it! No one will ever forget her, pies, her sour cream chocolate cake, her Korean chicken, her oyster stew and the best turkey dressing in the world! Frances and Stanley became 'snowbirds' in the 70's when they purchased a condominium in Scottsdale, Az and later a home in Sun Lakes. Frances moved from her home of 54 years in Spring Lake Park to the Brightondale Assisted Living Apartments in December 2003. Then to Centennial Villa in Annandale, Minnesota, from 2005 until she died on November 30, 2008.

Preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Dahlmeier; her parents, Albert and Amelia (Korbitz) Nauman; her sister, Grace Mather; her brothers, James Nauman, Allen Nauman, Paul Nauman, Conrad Nauman. Survived by daughter Phyllis (Charles) Fering, son Bruce Dahlmeier; brother Louis Nauman (wife Debbie), six grandchildren: Craig Fering (wife Lynn and children Ryan and Anthony), Kristen Fering, Jon Fering (wife Joan and children Chrissie and husband Michael, Joe and wife Ahsley and son Max, Emma, Elsa and Brad), Jill Niedringhaus (husband Paul and children Jake, Jack, Josie and Joseph), and Joseph Fering (wife Sarah and children Gunnar, Anders, and Soren), and Brad Dahlmeier (wife Colleen and son Wyatt).
