Ella A. Otto, age 94, of Annandale died Sunday, June 24, 2012 at her home.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. with Memorial Services held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 29, 2012 at Zion Lutheran Church, Annandale. The Rev. Thomas Queck will officiate and interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Annandale.
Ella Anna Otto was born September 8, 1917 at Winthrop to Albert and Pauline (Schauer) Gutknecht and was Baptized at Mountville Lutheran Church. She was Confirmed in 1931 at Zion Lutheran Church, Winthrop and graduated from Winthrop High School in 1935. She married Gilbert Otto on November 22, 1936 and he preceded her in death on December 20, 1992. Ella was a homemaker and from 1940-1970 helped with the family mink ranch. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Annandale, Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, Busy Needles, and Fellowship Club. She enjoyed her family, her home, her church and all the activities; homemaking, gardening, canning, baking pies & bread, sewing, tying quilts, and hand quilting.
She is survived by her four sons & their spouses Stanley & Helen of South Haven, William & LuAnn of Albany, James & Sandy of Annandale, Ron & Evelyn of Annandale, 10 grandchildren Erich, Jared, Jason, Steven, Aaron, Jessica, Angela, Justin, Jacob & James, and 16 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, great grandson Adam, brothers George, Alvin, Florenz, & Sidney Gutknecht, and sisters Mabel Stresemann & Viola Mathwig.
The urn bearers will be Jessica Magrum & Angela Otto and the honorary urn bearers will be her daughters-in-law Helen, LuAnn, Sandy & Evelyn Otto. The organist will be Julie Starke and the arrangements were entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care of Annandale.
