Dianne Velores Graphenteen was born July 14, 1947 in Madison, Minnesota, to Virgil and Delores (Hill) Peterson. She grew up with her family in the Dawson area, where she graduated from Dawson High School in 1965. Dianne then went on to further her education by attending the Minnesota School of Business in 1966. On March 6, 1966, she was united in marriage to Harlan Wayne Graphenteen at Providence Valley Lutheran Church in Dawson. Dianne and Harlan briefly lived in North Minneapolis before moving to Loretto. Dianne sold various products through her independent sales endeavors while raising her three children. In 1976, Dianne and Harlan, along with their family, moved to the South Haven area. Dianne worked for Annandale Public Schools as a media specialist in the high school for 11 years before becoming the fundraising coordinator for Friendship Ventures. Dianne was an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, where she also sang in the choir. She was also a member of the Fairhaven Lions Club and served as a past president. Dianne and Harlan enjoyed retirement together, whether it be traveling together, spending winters in Florida or caring for their grandchildren. She was a gifted quilter and also liked to sew. Music was always special to Dianne, whether it be singing in various bands, with Bandana being the most recent, singing in the church choir, or playing piano. She also enjoyed the occasional trip to the casino. Above all, Dianne treasured the time she was able to spend with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Dianne is survived by her husband of 49 years, Harlan of South Haven; children and their spouses, Julie and Todd Cantin of Annandale, Troy and Gretchen Graphenteen of Champlin, and Jennifer and Chris Harmoning of Becker; 7 grandchildren, Hayden, Denlan and Jaycie Harmoning, Ashley (Bill) Lantto, Amber (Jeff) Shermo, Aaron (Roshanthi) Cantin, and Alicia (fiancé, Chris Baker) Cantin; many great grandchildren; siblings, David Peterson of Dawson and Darlene Storlein of Marshall; and many nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Delores Peterson and two infant siblings.

Hayden, Denlan and Chris Harmoning, Aaron and Todd Cantin, Bill Lantto, and Chris Baker will serve as pallbearers. Jeff Shermo and Jeremiah Peterson will serve as honorary pallbearers. St. John’s Lutheran Choir and Orma Lou Jacobsma will provide music for the service. Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Annandale.
