Christopher J. Churchill, age 34, of Maple Lake died Monday, November 6, 2017 in Eagle Butte, SD while on a hunting trip as a result of an auto accident.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 13, 2017 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Waverly with Fr. Kenneth O’Hotto as the celebrant and Fr. Marty Shallbetter as the concelebrant. Visitation will be 3-6 p.m. Sunday at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Maple Lake and from 9:30 until the funeral on Monday in the gathering space of the church. A prayer service will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral chapel.

Christopher James Churchill was born October 3, 1983 at the Waconia Hospital to James and Jody (Reimer) Churchill. They lived in Howard Lake until 1992, when Chris started the 3rd grade in Maple Lake. He graduated with the Class of 2002 from Maple Lake High School. Chris placed his heart and soul into the family business, H & H Sports Shop of Maple Lake; he currently managed H & H and owned and operated Chris Churchill Flooring. Chris liked to compete in bowling, fishing and fantasy football leagues, and to play cards at Fobbe’s Farm. Chris loved children and was great with the kids of his family and friends. He had a passion for the outdoors and loved to hunt and fish.

Chris is survived by his parents Jim and Jody Churchill of Maple Lake; sister Lenora Churchill of Annandale; grandparents Roger and Holly Rosin of Waverly, Frederic Reimer of Montrose, and Byron and Mary Churchill of Maple Lake; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his grandmother Marie Reimer and all of his great grandparents.

The casket bearers will be Nick Sjoline, Adam Latzig, Jessup Bliven, Eric Arola, Brooks Borrell and Adam Puncochar. The honorary bearers will be Brian Fouquette, Jared Benoit and Tom Klatt. Belinda Larson and The St. Mary’s Funeral Choir will provide the music for the service. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Maple Lake.
