Charles Dean Schacht was born December 24, 1963 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Shortly after his birth, Chuck was adopted by his parents, Waldo & Carol (Lantto) Schacht. He was raised in Annandale, where he also graduated from high school with the Class of 1982. Charles married Arleen Handeland on April 26, 1986 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Annandale. Chuck worked at Perry’s Jack & Jill in Annandale as a meat-cutter, before working for M&P in Maple Lake. He then went to work for Howard’s Plumbing, before returning to M&P again. For the past 25 years, Chuck has been employed by Time Warner/Comcast, most recently as a construction supervisor. Chuck will always be remembered as a sports enthusiast. He loved his Minnesota sports teams, especially the Golden Gophers. When Chuck was not watching sports, talking about sports, or playing in a fantasy sports league, he could be found fishing or hunting. He loved to travel and take vacations with his family. He was always up to entertaining guests, playing a game cards, or simply enjoy conversation with his family and friends with an ice cold beverage. As an animal lover, Chuck would often greet his friends’ pets, before them. Above all, Chuck treasured the time he was able to spend with his family, especially with Arleen by his side and his grandson, Harrison on his lap.

Chuck is survived by his wife of 31 years, Arleen; son, Bryce (Autumn) of Parker, CO; daughter, Alyssa of Minneapolis; beloved grandson, Harrison; father, Waldo Schacht of Annandale; siblings, Aaron (Lynn) Schacht of Monticello, Stephanie (Jeff) Kraus of Kasson, Kristin (Loren) Vetsch of Monticello, Bethany “Emma” (Mark) Boyat of Maple Grove, Melanie (Mike) Galante of Champlin, Mary Schacht of Kasson, Angela (Jeff) Bergstrom of Maple Lake, and Colleen (Jeremy) Wallin of Stockholm, WI; siblings-in-law, Tom (Sue) Handeland of Marshall, Jackie Handeland of South Haven, Karin (Marv) Howard of Annandale, Donny (Stacy) Handeland of South Haven, Carol (Fadi) Masarweh of San Leandro, CA, and Marleen Handeland of St. Cloud; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, coworkers, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his mom, Carol, mother-in-law, Ann Handeland, and his beloved dog, Jack.
