Charles M. Curtis, age 88, of Annandale died peacefully on Saturday, February 4th, 2017.

Private family services will be held.

Charlie “Chuck” Monroe Curtis Sr.  was born January 26, 1929 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Austin John and Stella (Ellertson) Curtis.  Charles joined the United States Navy in August of 1946. He served on the 1504 Navel Construction Battalion Saipan M.I. as well as the 104th Naval Construction Battalion in Coronado CA.  Charlie was honorably discharged with a World War II Victory Medal and a Good Conduct Medal in January of 1949. He married Bonnie Schmitz on July 2, 1955 and they lived in Annandale together with their four children.  Charlie worked for AT&T Network Systems for over 32 years, where he belonged to the Communications Workers of America Union Local 7290.  He had a love of cars, motorcycles & snowmobiles, watching the Vikings & Twins, spending time with his family and engaging in a good conversation.

He will be missed by his children Chuck II (Mari) of Annandale, Rhonda Curtis of Chaska and Mark (Lisa) of Hopkins; son-in-law, Kent Andrews of Annandale, brother-in-law Daniel (Shirley) Schmitz of Annandale, grandchildren, Christopher (Lori), Erik, Sonja (Erik), Mikel, Kenyan, and Logan; great grandchildren, Haley, Tyler, Dylen, Omni, Castiel, and Denmark.  He is preceded in death by his parents; brother Elroy and sister Carole; as well as his loving wife of 52 years, Bonnie Mae in October 2007; and daughter Kimberly Andrews in August 2003. 

Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Annandale.
