Bonita Louise Dockendorf was born May 8, 1934 at home in Richville to Dorsey and Myrtle (Hanson) Castle. She grew up in Richville and graduated from Perham High School with the Class of 1953. After graduating, Bonnie moved to the metro area where she met and later married Orin Simons. They made Brooklyn Park their home until moving to South Haven in 1969. Bonnie worked at Rachels Café in South Haven. They divorced and Bonnie moved to Buffalo where she worked at Buffalo Dry Cleaners. On April 26, 1982, Bonnie was married to Alvin Dockendorf in Buffalo. They moved to Annandale shortly before Alvin’s death in 2003. Bonnie enjoyed taking trips to the casino, working on crossword puzzles and crocheting.
