    Alvina “Mumzy” Berscheid, age 93, of Sartell and formerly of Kimball, died Friday, April 29, 2016 at her granddaughter’s home in Sauk Rapids.

    Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 6, 2016 at the Church of St. Anne in Kimball with Fr. Thomas Olson as the Celebrant.  Burial will follow at St. Anne’s Catholic Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Kimball and one hour prior to the service, Friday, at the church.  Parish Prayers will be held at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral chapel.

    Alvina Violet Berscheid was born April 10, 1923 in Olivia to Albert and Minnie (Meier) Yungk.  She grew up in Grove City, lived most of her life in Kimball and for the last 6 years she lived in Sartell.  On September 1, 1945, Mumzy was united in marriage to Ambrose Paul Berscheid in Litchfield.  She was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church and the Kimball American Legion Auxiliary.  She also volunteered at the Kimball American Legion and spent over 1000 hours volunteering at the St. Cloud V.A. Medical Center.  Alvina enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting and visiting with family and friends.

    She is survived by three sons Dannis of Coarsegold, CA, Marvin (Sue) of Kimball and Duane (Renee) of Kimball; sister Areline Slinden of Litchfield; 11 grandchildren Sara Haile, Sheila Fowler, Sonja Parks, Jason, Erick and Scott Berscheid, Jenny Hamilton, Krissy Kelm, Michelle Spoden, Bonnie and Becky Berscheid; and 24 great grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her husband Ambrose; parents Albert and Minnie Yungk; sons Stephen and Eugene; brothers Bennie, Erwin and Richard Yungk; sister Irma Witte; grandson Joel and daughter-in-law Janie.

    Alvina’s grandchildren will serve as the casket bearers.  Kathy Pauls and St. Anne’s Choir will provide the music for the service.  Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Kimball.
