November 30, 1950 ~ October 2, 2016 (age 65) 65 Years Old

    Allen L. Johnson, age 65, of South Haven died on Sunday, October 2, 2016 at the St. Cloud V.A. Medical Center after a year long battle with a cancerous brain tumor.

    Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale, with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.  A Committal Service with military honors will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at Minnesota State Veteran’s Cemetery at Camp Ripley near Little Falls.

    Allen Lee Johnson was born November 30, 1950 in Little Falls to Eldred and Ruth (Close) Johnson.  He grew up in Randall and graduated with the Class of 1968 from Little Falls High School.  Allen served his country in the Vietnam War with the U.S. Army.  He was married to Patty Smith in 1976 and was later divorced.  For over 45 years, Allen has been employed by Malco Tools near Annandale, working as a maintenance mechanic.  He was a member of the Kimball American Legion Post 261.  Allen was proud of his Swedish heritage and enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching Westerns.

    He is survived by his daughter and her husband Michelle & Clyde Marquette of Kimball; four grandchildren Adam, Levi, Nathan and Ethan all of Kimball; brothers and their wives Warren & Yvonne Johnson of Motley and Erwood & Mary Johnson of Osakis; and sister-in-law Leone Johnson of Randall.  He is preceded in death by his parents Eldred and Ruth Johnson; and brother Dwayne Johnson.

    Pastor Tom Heyd will officiate and Sarah Goelz will provide the music for the service.  Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Annandale.
