Adelyn L. Lutgen, of Kimball, died on Christmas Day, 2015 at the St. Cloud Hospital surrounded by her family.
Visitation will be from 12-3 p.m., with prayers at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2015 at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Kimball. Burial will take place in the spring at St. Anne Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society.
Adelyn LaVonne Lutgen was born in Thief River Falls to Harry and Juri (Austad) Causin. Her mother died in child birth and Addie went to be raised by her aunt and uncle Ella and Otto Cousin. She attended boarding school and graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy in Crookston; she then graduated from Bemidji Teachers College. Addie taught school for 14 years in Minnesota and Bottineau, North Dakota. Later, she went to nursing school and worked for St. Cloud Hospital for 30 years. Addie enjoyed spending time with family, going to auctions, antiquing and reading.
She is survived by her husband Ben Lutgen; children Michael Dalton of Hood River, OR, Patrick Dalton of Eden Prairie, Bruce Dalton of St. Cloud and Larry (Isabel) Dalton of Eden Prairie; nine grandchildren and many great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; first husband Boyd Sabourin; second husband Donald Dalton; son Daniel Dalton; daughter Kelly Dalton; grandson Adam Dalton; and daughter in law Toni Dalton.
